Single Tooth Implant
Patient 1: Case Overview:
The patient presented with an over-retained primary (baby) tooth that was mobile and esthetically compromised. Due to the tooth’s instability and discoloration, extraction was recommended.
At the time of extraction, a dental implant was placed, and a temporary restoration was provided on the same day. This allowed the space to be maintained while the implant healed.
Approximately two months after the surgical procedure, the final crown was fabricated and placed.
This treatment approach can help avoid the need for a removable prosthesis during healing, reduce overall treatment time, and support the preservation

Patient 2: Case Overview:
The patient presented to our office with an implant that had been placed elsewhere approximately two years earlier. The gum tissue above the implant repeatedly became inflamed and occasionally developed a small opening, leading to ongoing discomfort and multiple courses of antibiotics. The patient was concerned about the recurring infections and the need for continued medication.
After a comprehensive clinical evaluation and a 3D dental scan, it was determined that a portion of the bone supporting the implant had been lost.
Treatment performed: To address the underlying cause of the inflammation and improve the long-term health of the implant, treatment focused on rebuilding and stabilizing the surrounding tissues.
The affected area was carefully cleaned, and both the bone and gum tissue around the implant were isolated and reinforced. A small connective tissue graft was placed to thicken the gum tissue and improve the contour of the gums above the implant. This step helps protect the implant, reduces the risk of future irritation, and improves the natural appearance of the gum line.
After proper healing, a final screw-retained implant crown was placed. This type of crown allows for precise fit, easy maintenance, and long-term stability while restoring both function and appearance.
