In recent years, teeth whitening has become very popular.  A smile is one of the first things that people notice about your appearance.

With age, caffeine, red wine, smoking, etc, the teeth can look yellow and dull. Whiter teeth make us look better: younger, more attractive, more confident. This is why people of all ages are now opting for teeth whitening systems to improve their smile.

Check out what is considered to be the most effective whitening system in the world, the KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching System.

The patient’s tooth shade before treatment was A2.  Following Kör Whitening Treatment, the patient’s tooth shade is OM1, the lightest shade dentists have available.

But with myriads of products available on the market, it can be hard to decide what system to choose.

How does whitening work?

Hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide are the oxidizing agents that are used to lighten the teeth. The oxidizing agent penetrates the outer surface of the teeth, removing the stain deposits.

The effects of bleaching can last for several months, but may vary depending on the lifestyle of the patient.

KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching System, before and after.

1. Professional Tooth Whitening

This is the most popular procedure in a dental office. It usually takes about an hour and it is done under the dentist’s supervision.

There are different whitening systems used for professional tooth whitening:

  • Zoom Whitening : Uses a whitening gel that is applied on your teeth at the beginning of the procedure and a special bright light that initiates chemical reactions in the gel leading to tooth whitening.
  • Laser Whitening : Uses the same concept as zoom whitening. A laser light initiates the chemical reaction within the gel applied to the teeth.
  • In-Office Tooth Whitening Gels : The procedure is performed in a dental office. The dentist applies the gel and the chemical reaction is initiated by mixing the base and the catalyst together.

2. Professionally Dispensed Take-Home Whitening Kits

The gel is applied to the teeth using custom-made bleaching trays. You wear it at home for about an 1 hour a day. These kits contain a lower percentage hydrogen peroxide than in-office whitenings, and are safe to use at home.

3. Over-the-Counter Whitening

The concentration of hydrogen peroxide in over-the -counter kits is very low. The process can only remove superficial stains and has a temporary effect.

Before and after KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching System.

The KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching System is considered to be the most effective whitening system in the world.

How does this system work?

After eruption, the teeth absorb the extrinsic (external) stain that with years becomes intrinsic (internal). That intrinsic stain makes the teeth look dark.

With time, more and more intrinsic stain accumulates within the tooth structure. The joining of the molecules of stain and pigments creates a tightly-packed network of molecules, that makes it difficult for active molecules of bleaching agents to penetrate the tooth microstructure thoroughly.

Therefore, predictable whitening is dependent upon the ability of bleaching factors to penetrate deeply within the microstructure of the teeth. Dentists commonly find that single-visit, in-office power bleaching of all types have a high incidence of unpredictability.

Why does it happen?

If the microstructure of the patient’s teeth is compacted with debris, it is not permeable to the bleaching factors. Therefore, single-visit in-office power bleaching will have a minimal effect.

Regardless of the strength or brand of a whitening gel, if the bleaching factors are unable to get into the microstructure of the teeth, little or no whitening will occur.

The KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching System allows bleaching factors to have free access and adequate time to saturate deeply into the microstructure of teeth, causing removal of debris and stain, and the conversion of large, dark long-chain molecules to small colorless or white molecules. That is why KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching System is remarkably successful and predictable.

It has been shown that peroxide gel within conventional at-home bleaching trays loses the majority of its effectiveness after only 25-30 minutes. This is an inadequate amount of time to accomplish thorough removal of accumulated micro-debris from the tooth structure.

What is the procedure for KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching System?

That result is obtained with a 2 week home supply of the bleaching gel together with custom made bleaching trays.

At the first visit in our office, you will have your teeth color evaluated so depending on the degree of discoloration, you will receive the appropriate bleaching agent. The impressions are taken at the same appointment.

Custom trays are fabricated to insure proper fit and seal necessary to achieve the best bleaching results.

When you pick up your trays, you will also be given a 2 week supply of the bleaching gel that you will use at night for 2 weeks. This process increases permeability of the tooth microstructure by breaking down networks of the molecules of stain and pigments.

At the end of 2 weeks, we schedule a one hour appointment for in-office bleaching, during which a much more potent bleaching agent is used to finalize the process.

The results are amazing!!!
