BOTOX
BOTOX is a drug made from a toxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum.
With real, noticeable results, no surgery and no recovery time, there are many reasons why BOTOX has been chosen by millions of women and their doctors.
It is used in small doses to treat following problems:
- forehead wrinkles
- moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows
- crow’s feet lines at the corners of your eyes
- wrinkles around your mouth
BOTOX injections work by preventing certain muscles movements.
The effects last about three to six months.
BOTOX injection is performed usually without anesthesia. However, a local anesthetic or ice may be used for numbing the treatment area.
Patients may experience some minimal discomfort from the needle injection.
The amount of BOTOX to be used for the procedure is determined on the individual basis. Some people require more, others require less.
Results are usually evident within a day and up to one week and last about three to six months.
Temporary bruising is the most common side effect.
Side effects can include pain at the injection site, flu-like symptoms, headache and upset stomach. Injections in the face may also cause temporary drooping eyelids. This side effect usually resolves itself within days, or in rare cases, months after the procedure.
Patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding or have a neurological disease should not use BOTOX.
DERMAL FILLERS
Treatment for creases and folds and facial hollowing include a variety of DERMAL FILLERS which replace lost volume in the skin, creating a softer, more youthful appearance.
Additionally, DERMAL FILLERS are now being used for plumping and lifting the cheeks, filling out thin lips, plumping sagging hands and even filling out larger areas such as breasts and buttocks.
DERMAL FILLERS are well known for their safety, efficacy and immediate results.
DERMAL FILLERS have become one of the most common and satisfying cosmetic treatments on the market today.
There are different types of DERMAL FILLERS on the market:
Most of the DERMAL FILLERS is a gel-like substance made of hyaluronic acid – a compound that is found naturally in the skin, muscles and tendons of mammals.
It is injected underneath the skin to fill out lines and wrinkles and to plump up hollows in the face and body.
Hyaluronic acid fillers offer longer lasting results than collagen-based fillers, fat injections and synthetic wrinkle fillers.
DERMAL FILLERS brand names include ArteFill, Radiesse, Sculptra, Juvederm, Hylaform, Restylane and several others.
There are also permanent DERMAL FILLERS available.
They last for many years but some people will want a retouch after approximately 5-7 years.
The downside to using permanent fillers is you cannot go back to temporary ones and if you are not satisfied with the results, you won’t be able to change it.
Permanent DERMAL FILLERS may also be unsuitable for some areas of the face. Make sure you let us know about your concerns.
DERMAL FILLERS injections might be painful.
In our office we will make get you numb with the local anesthetic that is used for dental procedures.
DERMAL FILLER is then injected into the marked points beneath the skin to fill out the line, wrinkle, or fold.
After treatment you would go about your normal activities. We usually ask you to refrain from vigorous exercise however.
Treatment with DERMAL FILLERS sometimes does take more than one session to get the best results. The first treatment lays the foundation for the subsequent treatments, and future treatments allow for any adjustments to be made.
In the first few days after injection, the treated area may feel a little firm; however, this should improve rapidly.
